We are former clients of Attorney Norman I. Kurtz at Norman I. Kurtz, Ltd Law Offices in 800 East Northwest Highway Suite #109 Mt. Prospect, IL 60056.
In 2004, we were planning to purchase a condominium in Skokie, IL. We were looking to hire a Real Estate Attorney to help in our transaction.
Attorney Norman I. Kurtz was a prestigious member of our Congregation Beth Judea.
According to his (now closed) website above (view archived version here), Mr. Norman Kurtz has been "practicing law for more than 40 years ... concentrating in real estate transactions." He is "experienced in delivering legal services in a highly professional, personal and quality manner." Mr. Norman Kurtz is listed as a "long standing member of the Illinois and Northwest Suburban Bar Associations and the Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association."
In July 2004, we agreed to purchase $183,500 Condominium from Seller Paul Tsagaroulis.
We hired Attorney Norman Kurtz to help close our Real Estate Transaction and paid his fee. At Closing, Attorney Norman Kurtz claimed that our Condominium Property Taxes would be $1,600/year. But for the next 8 years, our Property Tax Bills were $4,600/year.
Attorney Norman Kurtz also promised that we would have legal Board Member rights in the Condominium Association Board. One year later we discovered that we did not have any legal rights! The Government Records still listed our Seller / Previous Owner Paul Tsagaroulis as Condominium Association Board Member. We were forced to hire another Attorney to correct this mess (additional $8,000+ in legal expenses).
